What's in a Name?

"Palladion" has two sources:

Mythological
In classical mythology, the "palladion" was a statue of Athena whose presence was thought to guarantee the safety of Troy; only after Odysseus and Diomedes stole the image were the Greeks able to capture Troy.

By extension, "palladion" is used to mean a safeguard.
Architectural
The name is a reference to Andrea Palladio, the Italian Renaissance architect whose work on proportion and harmony in design remains one of the foundations of Western architecture.
